I made the drawing lighter using Microsoft Photo Editor. (i don't have or know how to use Photoshop XD) still not as good as in real life (i need to get a good scanner -__-) but better than the old one =]
What kind of scanner are you using? It could just be that you don't have the settings set up correctly, I could try to help if you wish.
On to the drawing however: the main problem with this is that it hasn't been converted to a digital format very well (back to your scanner problem) which distracts from the actual work. Ignoring that, however, this looks really nice in terms of technical skill, and it's clear that you have a firm handle on working with realism. However, it also looks a bit bland in terms of subject. Since you're solid with this, you should try exploring subjects that are more unique rather than models or actresses. It's very easy to spot a drawing that's referenced a professional model in a professional pose, and we're so used to seeing such things in magazines and tv that even something like this, that shows a very good amount of skill, can fail to leave a strong impression upon viewers. Since you have the skills to draw well, now you need to start pushing for off beat subjects to work with.

Red and white for blood cells, Red and white for wine, They could be the whole damn spectrum if you'd all just let them, Lord it's such a crime.
*frowns* wow lol i feel so inferior. ^_^ it's amazing! all my drawings have a cartoon-y look to them, even if I'm drawing real people... this is really good though, it looks like a photo
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
